Avoid perfumes, water, sprays or any make up liquids directly on the metal
You might want them to really last long so try and keep each piece separately or in different compartments of a storage box
Black metal /oxidised or antique usually do not put off color soon but Gold and Silver polish start diminishing after few wears
Post use try and wipe with dry soft cloth to ensure there is no body sweat or make up stains as this can dull the color
Brass and copper base is often used on fashion jewellery and hence moisture or dampness can also tarnish the polish hence keeping it DRY is advisable
